IS GOD WORTHY ENOUGH TO

HAVE AN ALTAR IN YOUR HOME?

 

In biblical times altars were built as a place to worship God. They were also built as memorials at the place God had appeared and blessed his people.  Moses built an altar unto the Lord and called the name of it Jehovah Nissi after God had given him the victory in battle at the place the battle was won (Exodus 17:15).  Altars were used to offer up sacrificial gifts. 

As we offer up praise and thanksgiving to our God, it is as a gift on the altar of sacrifice.  Jesus said the altar sanctifies the gifts that are on it (Matthew 23:19).  Therefore as you render up the sacrifices of praise and thanksgiving before the altar, you will be anointed and sanctified (set apart for God’s purpose, honor and glory). Has God done anything for you worth remembering; if so you need to build an altar as a memorial.
